2026 Hurricane Season Update from CGS

The National Hurricane Center will soon start issuing tropical weather outlooks
about weather in the Atlantic. From May 15 to November 30, they share information four times a day about severe weather and the chances of hurricanes forming. If there are hurricanes or tropical storms in the Atlantic, they provide more frequent updates. If you live in a hurricane prone area, we suggest bookmarking the National Hurricane Center web site.
Researchers at Colorado State University predict that the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season will have somewhat below average activity. They predict 13 named storms and 6 hurricanes (2 major) in 2026. Here are the 21 names for the 2026 hurricane season:
