myCGS® DME Web Portal: Tips to Fix the "Your Connection Is Not Private" Message

You may see a message that says "Your connection is not private" when using the CGS DME Web Portal. We've confirmed the portal is secure. This message usually means there's an issue with your local device or company network settings. The steps below can help you fix it.

Try these quick tips first:

  • Clear cookies and cache
  • Switch browsers
  • Open the portal in a Private or Incognito window
  • Check to see if your browsers are up to date
  • Check to see if the date and time on your computer are correct

If you've tried these tips and still see this error, contact your IT Department. They may need to:

  • Disable HTTPS/SSL Scanning: Look at the VPN or Antivirus settings for a feature named "HTTPS Scanning," "SSL Scanning," or "Web Shield" and temporarily disable it.
  • Whitelist the Portal: If scanning cannot be disabled entirely, add the following domains to the VPN's Exclusion List or Whitelist:
    • *.mycgsportal.com
    • *.cgsmedicare.com
  • Update the VPN Client: Make sure you are on the latest version of the VPN client to fix the handshake failure. Outdated VPN software can sometimes have corrupted certificate handling.
  • Check System Time: Make sure the computer is set to "Set time automatically." Incorrect system time can lead to certificate validity mismatches.
