Hurricane Nate:
The President declared a state of emergency for Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida (The Public Health Declaration and the Social Security Act waiver for Louisiana October 5, 2017; Mississippi and Alabama October 6, 2017; and Florida October 7, 2017,) and the HHS Secretary declared a Public Health Emergency which allows for CMS programmatic waivers based on Section 1135 of the Social Security Act.
Hurricane Maria:
The President declared a state of emergency for United States Virgin Islands, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (The Public Health Declaration and the Social Security Act waiver for Puerto Rico September 17, 2017 and the U.S. Virgin Islands are effective as of September 16, 2017) and the HHS Secretary declared a Public Health Emergency which allows for CMS programmatic waivers based on Section 1135 of the Social Security Act.
Hurricane Irma:
The President declared a state of emergency for the United States Virgin Islands, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (September 6, 2017) - The Public Health Declaration and the Social Security Act waiver for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are effective as of noon on September 8, 2017), and the State of Florida (September 6, 2017) The Public Health Declaration and the Social Security Act waiver for Florida are effective as of 4:00 on September 9, 2017.) which allows for CMS programmatic waivers based on Section 1135 of the Social Security Act.
The President also declared a state of emergency for the states of Georgia and South Carolina (September 8, 2017) and authorized waivers and modifications under Section 1135 of the Social Security Act (the Act), retroactive to September 6, 2017, for the State of South Carolina and retroactive to September 7, 2017, for the State of Georgia) and the HHS Secretary declared a Public Health Emergency which allows for CMS programmatic waivers based on Section 1135 of the Social Security Act.
Hurricane Harvey:
The President declared a state of emergency for Texas (August 26, 2017) and Louisiana (August 28, 2017) and the HHS Secretary declared a Public Health Emergency which allows for CMS programmatic waivers based on Section 1135 of the Social Security Act.
