Jurisdiction C Contract Re-compete Announcement

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced on August 20, 2020, CGS Administrators, LLC (CGS) as the Jurisdiction C Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC).  The contract is for a period of seven years, from September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2027.  The award announcement was a re-competition of the Jurisdiction C DME MAC contract under the competitive contracting provisions of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003.

CGS was awarded the previous Jurisdiction C contract in August 2012.  CGS is pleased to continue serving as the Fee-for-Service claims contractor for 31,500 DME Suppliers and 13 million Medicare beneficiaries in the states/territories of Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia and West Virginia.

Jurisdiction C Transition Period

With each contract award, there is a transition period regardless of the previous contract holder.  The transition period for the newly awarded Jurisdiction C contract will last until December 31, 2020.  CGS is committed to providing stakeholders with transition related information during this period via this transition dedicated web page.

Transition Impacts

Because CGS held the previous Jurisdiction C contract, communications will be for transparency and the transition will be seamless to DME suppliers and Medicare beneficiaries.
