January 2016 Release "Dark" Days for the Common Working File (CWF) Hosts
To accommodate the anticipated duration of the January 2016 release, and to ensure the completion of weekly/monthly/quarterly processing, the Common Working File (CWF) will have a “dark” day occurring on Thursday, December 31, 2015. The CWF will also be observing the holiday on Friday, January 1, 2016, therefore, this will also be considered a “dark” day.
What this means to you:
- It is customary for contractors to hold claims for several days following a quarterly release. Claims that are submitted prior to the release that would have been processed through the Common Working File (CWF) on December 31, 2015, and January 1, 2016, will be held until the CGS nightly system cycle, Monday, January 4, 2016.
- We anticipate that claims will still be processed within a normal timeframe, and these slight delays will not affect the timeliness of your payments.
- December 31, 2015, and January 1, 2016, will be “dark days.” This means that CWF transactions, deductible queries, etc., will not be available (this includes ELGA and HIQA for Part A providers).
While the CWF Dark Days will impact your access to ELGA and HIQA, they will not affect your ability to access beneficiary eligibility information through myCGS. In addition, the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) will be available.
