“Dark Days” – Common Working File (CWF) Hosts - October 2013 Release
CWF will be making format changes in early October 2013. The changes are related to Change Request (CR) 8244 (Discontinuation of Home Health Type of Bill 33X) and creating new Part A claims data fields for CR 8217 (Affordable Care Act Provider Specific File Interface Update for Inpatient Prospective Payment System, Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities, Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities and Long Term Care Hospitals). Due to the format and new data field changes, there will be one “gray” day occurring on Thursday, October 3, 2013, and two “dark” days on Friday, October 4, 2013 and Saturday, October 5, 2013. This information applies to all providers.
What this means to you:
- CWF will hold the claims received from CGS on 10/03/2013 and 10/04/2013. .
- 10/04/2013 and 10/05/2013 will be “dark days.” This means that CWF transactions, deductible queries, etc., will not be performed (this includes ELGA and ELGH for Part A and HHH providers).
- Claims that were held on 10/03/2013 and 10/04/2013 will be released for processing. We anticipate that claims will still be processed within a normal timeframe, and these slight delays will not affect the timeliness of your payments. Response files will be sent to CGS in the new format for 10/08/2013 night’s processing.
While the CWF Dark Days will impact a provider’s access to ELGA and ELGH, it will not affect a provider’s ability to access a beneficiary’s eligibility information from myCGS.
