Reminder: Common Working File (CWF) Dark Days
Due to the implementation of the Common Working File (CWF) April 2013 quarterly release and to ensure the completion of a history conversion, weekly/monthly/quarterly processing and scheduled data center maintenance, there will be CWF "Dark" days on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30, 2013. This means that the beneficiary eligibility systems (ELGA and ELGH) will not be available on March 29 and March 30, 2013. In addition, eligibility information will not be available through the CGS Interactive Voice Response (IVR), and myCGS. The "Dark" days also require CWF to hold CGS billing transactions on March 28 and 29. The claim response files with the held claims will be sent to CGS for processing during the April 2, 2013, nightly processing cycle.
Providers should also be aware that on March 29, 2013, CGS Customer Service Representatives will not have access to beneficiary eligibility information as well. As a result, they will not be able to authenticate beneficiary information; and therefore, may be unable to answer eligibility questions and related inquiries.
